What Makes It Christian
What is Christian Education for the Preschooler?

  1. We have teachers who reflect a strong faith and can share it.
  2. We share our faith by helping children see themselves as persons of worth - children of God.
  3. We share our faith when we provide opportunities for children to make choices.
  4. We share our faith as we help children become good stewards of God’s world and it's animals, birds, plants and trees.
  5. We share our faith when we help children to practice the rule of love in all relationships.
  6. We share our faith as we share our faith as we share our attitudes about others.
  7. We share our faith as we begin to share Bible stories, Church Seasons, and most of all, God’s love with our preschoolers.

Curriculum

First Baptist Kid’s Care is a church operated preschool. Your child will be surrounded with Christian values, stories, and songs, as well as the basic lessons of preschool.

The lesson will include holidays, community helpers, manners, sharing, fire safety, health, animals, transportation, seasons, weathers, five senses, plants, and more. Every month you will receive from your child’s teacher a calendar for the entire month. Everything that your child will be doing in the classroom will be listed on the monthly calendar. There will be parent-teacher conference held at the end of the year.

The 4-year-olds will have a basic introduction the alphabet. Each month will include certain letters, colors, and poems. Some lessons include: rules, making friends, address, phone number, community helpers, holidays, recycling, weather, farm, plants, and more. The 4-year-olds will have an “All About Me” unit the last 2 weeks of school. Every month you will receive a calendar with everything listed on it that will be going on in the classroom . There will be two parent-teacher conferences during the year, one in November and one in May.

Community workers and field trips will also be a part of our program. If at anytime you or a family member would like to share something special with the children, please feel free to let the director of your child’s teacher know. The children will have Show & Tell every two weeks, please refer to the class calendar for the date and item needed for this time. At no time will toy guns, money, gum or toy knives be permitted at school.

The preschool schedule will include a Chapel time everyday. This will be a time for the children to come together and worship. The Chapel time includes Bible songs, Bible verses, and bible stories. The lessons begin with the Old Testament and move all the way through the New Testament. Your child will be given a new bible verse to learn about every two weeks. A newsletter will be sent at the beginning of each bible story that we cover. The children will be bringing home their bible verse on a color sheet, please put this sheet somewhere that you and your child can remember to learn and practice it. The children will be asked to say the verses for their teacher. Your child will also be involved in Music and Movement Class two days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday). During this time the children will get to learn new songs and get to exert some energy with exercise and movement.
